In a strategic move to bolster relationships and enhance the international reach and recognition of hockey, FIH President Tayyab Ikram has been actively engaging with key sports leaders during his visit to the Hangzhou Asian Games.
Through a series of significant meetings and exchanges, President Ikram and the International Hockey Federation (FIH) are taking substantial steps towards promoting and developing the sport of hockey on a global scale. One of the most notable meetings during President Ikram’s visit was with Quanhai Li, the President of World Sailing. The discussions between these two influential sports leaders revolved around the importance of fostering a cooperative spirit among international sports organizations.

In recognition of the collaboration between the FIH and World Sailing, President Ikram awarded Quanhai Li with the “Greatest Appreciation” on behalf of the hockey family.

Another significant engagement was with Jin Chenglong, the Director General of the Hangzhou Sports Bureau and Deputy Secretary-General of the Hangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee. Jin Chenglong played a crucial role in ensuring the success of the Hangzhou Asian Games, with particular emphasis on supporting and promoting hockey.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions, President Ikram presented Jin Chenglong with the “Greatest Appreciation”. President Ikram also met with Antonio Arimany, the Secretary-General of World Triathlon and Vice-President of the International Council of Arbitration for Sport (ICAS).
